A Little POO For You!!!

Woohooooo, today was the first time since birth that Filly's manure actually looks like foal manure. While not quite the right color, the formation is awesome. Ok, so not everyone gets excited about poop, but this poop is very special because it means Filly's intestinal tract is on the mend.

Mama & Filly both got wormed. Hopefully the worming won't give Filly's tummy a setback. She was given probiotics to help keep the good bacteria working, hoping to ward off another bout of diarrhea from being wormed. It's definitely been a challenge to keep the diarrhea under control.

CMK gave Mama & Filly a few apples. Filly was so cute to watch as she tried to figure out what to do with that rolly thing. Finally she managed to actually take a little bite. You should have seen the look in her eyes. Boy did she get excited & go back for more apple. She really enjoyed her treat, even if she did only manage a few bites. It's so much fun watching a foal explore its world & experience new things. There is so much wonder in an innocent foal's eyes. CMK says there's so much joy from sharing life with Filly that it makes all these hard times worth it.

The casting material for Filly's new splints have arrived; the prototype hoof cuff with toe extension is ready for fitting; now the wait is for the support boots arrive. When all materials get here, the creation of a wrap around, easy to put on splint will begin. Hopefully by the end of the coming weekend Filly will be in her new "legs".

If anyone has any spare Vetwrap or probiotics they'd like to gift to Filly & Mama, please contact me. Thank you everyone for your continued support.
