Little Chomper

Mama & Filly have both received their first Vitamin B treatment. We're hoping to see an improvement within a few days. Filly's left front leg is back in the long splint, covering & immobilizing the leg from above the knee down. She took having her entire leg immobilized a lot better than expected. Everyone was worried she'd go through depression again but she didn't. She's sure a little trooper. Hopefully the longer splint will get Filly's hoof landing correctly & the fetlock to stop knuckling over. Of course she can't knuckle over with the splint on, but when the splint comes off it's hoped the fetlock will begin to function normally after being held in the correct position. Her left fetlock has a rub sore that is getting better because Dancing Winds is very creative & made a donut to lift the bandages off the sore. Filly is so lucky to have DW as a guardian angel.
What a great filly to work with. She's so good no matter what's being done to her. She enjoys it when CMK removes the wraps & splints every day. It's so much fun trying to chew on CMK's hair. Even more fun trying to grab CMK's shirt. It won't be long before Filly figures out how to use those little teeth to bite CMK's back. Oh what fun that'll be. NOT! One plus that will come out of all this wrapping & splinting is that Filly will be such a good horse for her trimmer someday. Either that or she'll have figured out every way possible to pick on her trimmer like she's learning how to pick on CMK.
