A Kind Word and A Small Set Back

Friday was a mixed emotion day. Mama & Filly were allowed into a larger paddock, about 40' x 70'. Oh did Filly run & play. Even with her splints she's quite athletic. She didn't get the splints off today because no one was available to help with the re-wrapping & it's definitely a two person job. Her mood was much improved & she had great fun scaring the other horses. The splints are clunky & make funny, clunky sounds. Filly seemed to know that her "legs" were scaring everyone so she ran & bucked even harder & closer to the fence. It was fun seeing her enjoy herself so much & even funnier to see the grown up horses snorting & fleeing. To keep her from getting too tired, she was only out for an hour. After a nap & a snack it was noticed that Filly once again had diarrhea. This is a terrible setback. Hopefully the Bio-Sponge & probiotics will once again do their job. Such an emotional roller coaster to see Filly acting so good, & then to see her begin having problems again. She's such a plucky filly & deserves for life to start being kinder to her.
A friend stopped by to see Filly for the first time. This friend is someone who used to show with the "big boys" & who had some pretty high dollar horses. Oh did he like Filly. He gave her a rave review & CMK was grinning. It's always nice to have someone so experienced give such a favorable review. Especially when that review is of a foal as special as Filly.
